Thoughts during a motivational lecture

I was attending a motivational-cum-inspirational session of "How to change our mindsets and be THE BEST, get double promotion or appraisals". The session was of two hours, and I was literally getting more agitated and disheartened to see the speaker creating a divide, a wrong perception, and establishing an incorrect standard among all of the listeners. What's worse was, his presentation and oratory skills were so superb and engaging that everyone forcefully remained engaged and allowed their brains to get washed. While the session was going on, my thoughts inside were dancing, and fighting and I really wanted to speak out and confront the speaker, "NO! YOU ARE WRONG" but how could I, and so I just started writing what I felt according to me was right and what I felt according to me he was wrong on. I literally parallelly was typing out this scribbler along with the session. (Please note, I don't oppose the speaker, but I oppose the mindset and his thoughts). Huge respect for him and his hard work.

He says, "Be Harvey! Be Ranbeer of YJHD"  (Ye Jawaani hai Deewani)
Stop Brainwashing!

While Harvey might be the best closure -
the best closure of all mess-ups and chaos -
mind well,
Harvey was the one who, at the first place,
actually created mess-ups and chaos

be it recruiting Mike,
crossing lines,
distorting relationships with Donna or mom-
or using Louis as a punching bag
and disrespecting everyone, prolonged.

When you quote Ranbir from YJHD,
remember, at last, the moral what Deepika speaks -
"jitna bhi try karo, kuch na kuch toh chootega hi"

...

He says, "Create your indispensable dependency in the project!"
Stop Brainwashing!

Creating the highest dependencies of oneself
is unconstructive and destructive,
what if you got ill or
went on leave?

Will your project still function without you,
won't your dependencies now be self-destructive?
...

He says, "Be THE BEST"
Stop Brainwashing!

what is "THE BEST"?
The definition of "THE BEST " is subjective.
Why are you making it objective?

A labor father, successfully
made his son finished education,
killing his own so-called material growth
that still IS
"THE SUCCESS" for that father

A so-called "successful" fat businessman,
having money is still Unsuccessful
when it comes to losing weight...

So success is measured
over Context
and without context,
success can't exist in-fact.

...

He says, "Be BIG. Don't be below average or average" (thinks being average/below average like gaali)

Stop Brainwashing! Stop dividing!

Average/Below Average/Best --
why are you creating a divide?
do you know each people's profile?

you are trying to create a "standard definition"
of actions
that an individual person might do

for example,
according to you,
the standard definition of being "time-bound" becomes below average
while a timelessly working person according to you becomes the best

You don't know everyone personally
and so tagging them globally is in fact not worthy

How can you boast Zuckerberg's coding 72 hours at a stretch?
It's really unhealthy and very discouraging to do that -

Our job is PART of life and NOT the entire life
everyone has their other responsibilities
and despite loving our job sincerely
keeping it doing for 100 hours isn't practically worthy!

Please don't try to standardize the
limitless and contextual definition of success and growth
please don't force a person
to downgrade and tag himself low!

Being BIG isn't successful
because who said being small
makes one unsuccessful?
...

He says, "Be the Best, best people surpass others"
Stop Brainwashing!

The idea of
Growing ahead in life
expecting ourselves to grow
doesn't always mean
that we surpass others
in the process.

The constant struggle of being "THE BEST"
would in fact create performance anxieties,
increased expectations in society,
and befriended less, used filthily and exhaustively!

...

He says, "Go beyond job description"

Stop brainwashing!

Going beyond job description -
sure, why not?
but my salary is only for
MY formal
job description

Formally I'm a developer
but if I'll go beyond my job description
and also start testing stuff
will I get an extra payout
will I get extra benefits?

According to me,

An organization's growth happens
when everyone starts fulfilling
their formal job description sincerely
and not bypassing it abruptly!

...
He says, "Remain not satisfied"
Stop Brainwashing!

Satisfaction doesn't always mean
that you stopped expecting "your upgrade"
Your mobile device stays the same,
but doesn't app and software updates?
For humans too, it's just the same!

Stagnation doesn't mean satisfaction,
and when you use word satisfaction
for stagnation
you are playing with fire!

Your artificial aggressive fantasies
of growing
shouldn't have made
YOU grown?

Why are you still lecturing
what are you and who are you -
I also heard about you
today only!

Irony!
You kept using examples of "successful" people,
but you yourself were missing from that list!
...

He says, "Switch yourself from wow to how from below average to best"
Stop Brainwashing!

We don't need to switch the layers of your so-called labeled
"below average, average, and best" layers and labels.
We don't need switching from wow to how!

What we actually need is
TO keep a balance of everything,
and not limit or restrict ourselves
in some kind of third person's tagging and boundary!

So stop brainwashing
and let people live and
be Mike, Rachel, Katrina, Jessica or Louis as well,
and not only Harvey.

Stop Brainwashing!

Because humans are not binary
or in your case tertiary!

Humans are made up of
different shades,
different stories,
different backgrounds
and different responsibilities

so, please
It's 5 now,

Ta! ta!

STOP brainwashing!
